Spring Concert Reflection

Each year I really enjoy that we hold at least one of our concerts at the Alliance Bible Church. There are many advantages for us having this arrangment, and it is not only a privlege but a great benefit on our part.
The acoustics of the Middle School Auditorium are fine, but they're not the greatest. Our sound quality is much clearer, crisper, and amplified when we sing in the church. We actually have to work to sing more quietly at the church becuase of the quality of the acoustics, which I think cna actually be more of a challenge but with practice, is really something that works to our advantage. Even when the group sings piano it comes out sounding strong and rich.
Another advantage the church provides us with is space. It's nearly impossible to fit the entire 6th through 12th grade groups together on stage for a number at the Middle School, where as at ABC it's less of a problem. Hopefully the choirs will have this same advantage for every cocnert when the new auditorium is complete.
With space for the singers comes the need of space for the audience, and ABC also provides us with this. With such a large group of singers it's a tight squeeze fitting all of those parents, grand parents, and siblings into the auditorium, but the church was built for this kind of a crowd and the space is there to fit everyone in comfortably. The way the seating is set up makes it possible for the audience members to see no matter where they choose to sit, but in the aud many of the seats are too far back to be able to see the groups' faces.
By next fall this should be an advantage the musical department will have for every concert, not for just one.
